How does Laser Thread Vein Removal work?
Laser Thread Vein Removal works by carefully directing the intense pulsed light - from our medical-grade SIPL system - at the veins, causing them to heat up. Once the vein has been heated, it will break down - before gradually getting dissolved and removed through the body’s natural lymphatic system - resulting in smoother and clearer skin.
Vascular Lesions - also referred to as Thread Veins / Spider Veins / Broken Capillaries - are tiny blood vessels which run closely to the surface of the skin. They look like thin red, purple or blue lines and commonly occur on the face and legs, but can be found anywhere on the body. They appear when blood vessels become enlarged which cause the veins to appear broken.
Rosacea is a common skin condition that primarily affects the face, causing redness, visible blood vessels, and sometimes small, red bumps or pustules. It typically begins with episodes of flushing or redness, which can eventually become persistent. Rosacea is a progressive condition, meaning it tends to worsen over time if left untreated.

Medically called ‘Telangiectasia’, thread veins (also known as spider veins) are very small blood vessels close to the surface of the skin that have burst. They often look pink, red, purple or blue.

As we age it is extremely common to experience thread veins - they can also be caused by excessive sun exposure, genetics, hormones, impact to the area, rosacea, smoking & alcohol consumption or being overweight.

Thread Veins are not normally an indication of anything harmful - occasionally they may be a symptom of an underlying issue. Generally the only problem is cosmetic and unfortunately will usually spread and get worse over time if left untreated.

All of our Laser and Super IPL treatments require a prior consultation and patch test - at least 48 hours before treatment. We will talk you through what is required and what to expect from your treatment. We also will test patch a small area to ensure you are suitable for treatment.
