The number of Super IPL/Laser Pigmentation Removal sessions required depends on several different factors, such as; the size, depth, severity, location and type of pigmentation, as well as the desired result.

Some lesions can be fully removed in a single treatment, whereas others will require several sessions to fade or remove the pigmentation.

Appointments are spaced a minimum of 3 apart - to allow the skin to heal between treatments.

There is minimal downtime with Laser and Super IPL Pigmentation Removal. Most clients typically have some minor redness to the area treated for 24 hours post treatment. Over the next 10 days your pigment may darken and then begin to flake off - it is important not to pick or pull at the skin whilst it is healing, as well as keep the area clean.

All of our Laser and Super IPL treatments require a prior consultation and patch test - at least 48 hours before treatment. During a consultation our Laser Specialist will assess your skin and suitability for treatment, before explaining your options and carrying out a small patch test to ensure your skin responds as expected. Laser/Super IPL Pigmentation Removal treatments can be performed a minimum of 3 weeks apart - in order to allow time for the skin to fully heal in between each appointment.

Hyperpigmentation that has been removed will not return after treatment, however Super IPL/Laser Pigmentation Removal will not prevent new pigmented lesions from occurring. Various factors such as aging, changes in hormone levels or UV exposure can stimulate new hyperpigmentation. We strongly recommend wearing a high-quality SPF on a daily basis - rain or shine, summer or winter - to prevent future pigmentation.
