It is necessary to undergo multiple treatments for desired results to be achieved. The number of sessions required varies for each individual, this is based on many different factors. Generally a minimum of 6-8 treatments are needed.

Your hair grows in different cycles - hair follicles go through resting and growth phases. For permanent hair reduction to be successfully achieved, the hair has to be treated during its growth stage. Only follicles in the growth phase contain hair and are destroyed by the heat. Resting hair follicles need to enter the growth phase before they can be effectively destroyed. The length and timing of the growth cycles are affected by numerous factors such as body area, hair density, thickness, ethnic origin, hormonal status and age.

All Laser Hair Removal systems can cause minor discomfort - this varies from client to client as your individual skin type is a fundamental affecting factor, as well as your personal pain tolerance.

The Super Hair Removal system we use is much more tolerable than traditional IPL and Laser - the sensation is often described as pulses of heat rather than pain.

Discomfort is minimal and no anaesthetics are required.

Yes - please shave the area to be treated the day before or on the day of treatment. You may also shave in between sessions if you wish to.

• Do not wax or thread hair from the treatment area.

• Do not have electrolysis on the area.

• Do not use depilatory (hair removal) creams on the treatment area.

• Do not bleach on the treatment area.

It is important that before receiving the IPL/Laser treatment you follow the recommended pre‐treatment guidelines for 30 days prior to the treatment.

• Do not wax or thread hair from the treatment area.

• Do not have electrolysis on the area.

• Do not use depilatory (hair removal) creams on the treatment area.

• Do not bleach on the treatment area.

• Please shave the area to be treated the day before or on the day of treatment.

• Do not use sun‐beds.

• Do not sun bathe.

• Do not use tanning cream.

• Do not smoke for 4 hours before the treatment.

• Please shower before attending and wear loose fitting clothing.

After any IPL/Laser treatment, it is common for the area to feel slightly warm. It is also common to experience some redness, local swelling and mild tenderness. These symptoms may appear immediately or a few days after treatment.

• The use of 100 % Aloe Vera gel is recommended directly after treatment and for a further few days if necessary.

• An ice cold compress can be applied if the area feels hot or uncomfortable.

• A high SPF 30+ should be applied when outside for 4 weeks after treatment. Excessive exposure can cause hypo or hyper pigmentation of the skin.

For the next 48 hours (after all treatments):

• Avoid all heat treatments such as steam rooms, saunas, hot baths, hot showers and excessive exercise.

• Avoid all perfumed creams, soaps and lotions on the treatment area. Only use Aloe Vera gel.

• Do not touch, pick or scratch the area (after skin rejuvenation or facial thread veins).

• Except for Hair Removal, do not use any anti‐inflammatory products for 7 days.

Lasers are very powerful pieces of equipment, but are safe and effective when they are in the hands of a fully trained, qualified and insured practitioner. It depends on the size of the area and how many areas you have treated. Our system has the largest applicator spot size on the market - this means we can treat a larger area in a shorter period of time. We can treat full legs in 10-15 minutes, instead of 90 minutes. Your practitioner will advise you during your consultation as to how long each appointment is likely to take.

Controlled pulses of light penetrate the upper layer of the skin and are absorbed by melanin - one of the body’s own natural chemicals. The melanin in the hair contained in the follicle converts the light energy into heat, which destroys the hair follicle - making it unable to produce new hair. The treatment is only effective on growing hairs, as these are still attached to the follicle. The majority of our hair is in the resting phase, therefore we recommend a minimum of 6 sessions to achieve your desired results.

No - unfortunately it is not possible for any IPL or Laser system to remove hair from tattooed areas. We can remove the surrounding hair but cannot treat directly over your tattoos.

No - all traces of tanning products must be removed from the treatment area before your laser session. This includes all fake tanning agents, gradual tanning moisturisers, oils and lotions. This is because fake tan acts as pigmentation on the skin - which could cause complications with your treatment.

Fake tan can be worn in between sessions but on the day of your treatment, your skin needs to be clear.

You can use self tan on other body areas - you just need to avoid your desired treatment area.

To remove fake tan properly, we advise:

• Using a tan eraser mitt or exfoliating pad on all areas of the body.

• Using an exfoliating scrub and moisturiser on your skin.

• Sitting in a hot bath.

• Paying attention to areas such as ankles and elbows where fake tan can settle.

No - we ideally need to see where the hair growth is at your consultation. If we need to remove any for the patch test - we will do this in the clinic for you.
